Our Mission

The FREED Peoples seeks to actively build power and bring communities of color to the decision making table. Our network works on a range of public policy issues that impact our Michigan community, including social, racial and environmental injustices as they affect education, health, housing, social services and basic human rights.

The organization is a collaborative of grassroots individuals helping to enhance the advocacy of basic human rights, including electoral goals by ensuring the Michigan government and candidates work for our communities.

FAQ:

Q-Are there limits to contributions made to the FREED Peoples PAC?
​A- Eligible individuals and their spouses may each voluntarily contribute up to $5,000 per calendar year to the PAC. 

Q-How is the FREED Peoples PAC governed?
A- The PAC is led by a board of Trustees.  The board of Trustees is a collective of local activist, teachers, students, and parents.  We are a coalition of local grassroots with real life connections to the communities and people that we serve.

Q- How much can FREED Peoples PAC give to federal candidates?
A-The PAC must abide by the limits set by the Federal Election Commission. When the PAC has reached multi-candidate status (which means it has given to more than five candidates and accepted more than 51 contributions), it can give up to $5,000 per election.
